Ben Barrie was raised in Richland, WA and proud to be a Bomber – RHS class of 1988. After years of being away, Ben is excited to return home and introduce a unique finished product in residential construction.
Over the past 10 years, he has been influenced by the coastal architecture of Southern California. He looks forward to bringing this inspiration that includes open floorplans, California-inspired interiors, outdoor living spaces and a finished product that is known for high quality and custom features.
This bold lifestyle transition and desire to introduce a new look to the Tri-Cities led to the name of his residential development company, REBEL Homes.
Ben has been in the residential construction, development and real estate industry for nearly 30 years. A temporary job during the summer of 1993 led to his career of home remodels and new construction. Since then, he has held several leadership positions with regional home builders, directing all project efforts including budgeting, subcontractor coordination, design execution and client management.
During the late 90’s through the financial crisis of 2009, Ben led the operations within the custom home division for one of the Eastside’s largest regional home builders. During his tenure, his clients included team members of Seattle’s professional sports teams, corporate executives, and families relocating to or within the local area. Projects ranged from $1.2M – $6.5M.
He managed an internal team of project managers, architects and interior designers that worked extremely close with each client and their dedicated resources. Through his leadership, the custom division earned awards in six out of seven categories at Seattle Street of Dreams competition, including John L. Scott Quality Street “Home of the Year in 2004. Additionally, he and his team received the 2008 National Association of Home Builders “Green Custom Home of the Year” award.
Ben and his family moved from Seattle to Orange County in 2010. After spending several years working for a boutique real estate office in Newport Beach, Ben returned to homebuilding and partnered with several local developers. He returned to his roots of leading custom and spec new residential construction in the Newport Beach area. Projects varied from residential remodels to elaborate custom new builds which resulted in contracts that ranged from $1.8M to $15M.
Ben graduated from Washington State University with a BA in Business Administration; where he met his wife, Angie. They have two young adult children, Lanni and Tyler, who were raised cleaning up job sites on the weekends in WA and CA. In his spare time, Ben enjoys golfing, snow skiing, traveling and is an avid college football (Go Cougs!) and Seahawks fan.
